This album is a tribute to those we've lost in life. Death has been a familiar theme for me in life to date, losing my sister at 5, and my mother 3 years ago, on the release of this record (along with many other close friends and relatives along the way.) This album is about the love you have to spread while you're here, and how important the quality of our time together is; the "kairos" of it.

For Mom and Leslie

Sean T. Jackson - Words, keyboards/piano/synths, lead vocals
Gerald Mattis - Drums, production, electronic beats, backing vocals
Dallas Zimmerman - Vocals, bass
Matthew Shawley - Guitar

Written and recorded between September 24th 2013 and September 24th 2016, primarily at the Horn Recording Studio (aka the Mattis Ranch)

All lyrics written by Sean T. Jackson
All songs property of Laika, the Astro-Hound

For Catherine Lynn Jackson, the Keeper of my Dreams, and for Leslie Lynn Jackson, who taught me so much in so little time. Also for you, especially if you've ever suffered that felt too great to bear.

Eternal Love - Cian

These songs came about in an odd way. I say “came about,” rather than “were written,” because I feel as if they wrote themselves. I got a hold of a zoom 8-tracker/digital beat-maker shortly after Thanksgiving of 2014. These songs were put together using the aforementioned 8-tracker, a Yamaha 76 key keyboard, a Line 6 digital delay/loop pedal, and a condenser microphone, over the course of three days. The focus was on doing everything “naturally.” That is to say, I didn’t prepare any music for these recordings ahead of time. All were written and recorded on the spot. Tracks 1-5 and 7-10 were multi-tracked. All sounds on them were made with the keyboard and delay pedal. Track 6 was recorded live using a smart phone, the keyboard, delay pedal, and beat-maker.

Brandon Locher mixed the songs, and edited the cover art.

All songs, sounds, lyrics, and artwork were created by Sean T. Jackson (Laika, The Astro-Hound)

Interesting fact: my father was born 4 days before Laika was launched into space via Sputnik. I chose this name for a project when I was 15; sometimes it’s indiscernibly interesting to find history towards the things which appeal to you.
Thanks to everyone who is supportive of my work, and if you aren’t supportive of my work, thank you anyway. -Sean
