In December of 2008 My Idea of Fun hired Kunaki to manufacture 30 copies of Emmett and Mary S/T that were sold on Decembenr 27th, 2008 at the 709 Railroad Street Christmas Show.
Emmett Karson, Survivor
Born in Steeple Hill Ohio in October of 1987 to Emily and Harvey Karson. His older sister is Annette Karson. Emmett’s father Harvey dies of a heart attack in May of 2002. Emmett’s mother Emily then marries Charles Hoover in October of 2003, Emmett driving his mother to her wedding. At the wedding Charles feeds Emmett several rufees in order to shut him up so he’ll pass out. Emmett begins to get more and more suspicious of his stepfather’s business as he goes through the motions in high school and starts dating Veronica Connel in September of 2004. Emmett is in attendance at the wedding of his sister Annette and Andrew Strayer in March of 2006. Veronica breaks up with him in July of 2006 after both graduate from Steeple Hill High School. She then goes to Paris to study abroad.
Emmett then attends Fayette University in Connecticut getting paired up with Linus Mansfield as his roommate. In September of 2007, Emmett starts dating Misty Chapel at Fayette and in October of that same year he forms his band Technological Epidemic with Linus. By September of 2008, Emmett and Misty both start using heroin together in Fayette along with Kerry Perich and some others. Misty breaks up with Emmett in November of 2008, before Emmett almost O.D.’s in his apartment.
Linus saves Emmett’s life by taking him to the hospital where he meets Mary Lugar for the first time. Emmett and Linus then both decide to drop out of school and join the church of Surveillance together in February of 2009. Emmett and Mary become romantically involved in June of 2010 and are in the cult until November of 2010, when Emmett, Mary, Linus and Lee Fisher all decide to steal money from Ken and run away back to East Heights. They then form their own group, The Civilized Union Liberal Track. These four are then safe in the woods in Mary’s inherited cabin during the apocalypse before returning to East Heights and setting up shop along Ash Road.

Linus Mansfield, Survivor
Born October 30th, 1987 in East Heights, Vermont to Graham and Sandy Mansfield. His parents divorce when he’s seven. Sandy runs off with Graham’s best friend Craig Roseman. She then dies when Linus is thirteen.
Graham marries Alice Hughes when Linus is ten, thus making Paige Hughes Linus’ stepsister. They all live on Birch Avenue. Linus falls in love with Ramona Strayer his freshmen year of high school. He fools around with Paige’s best friend, Joan Foster, that same year, and Lucy Parrish that summer. Linus finally dates Joan Foster for the summer after his sophomore year of high school only to dump her for Josephine March who moves in across the street, July of 2004.
Linus is best friends with Mitchell Graft in Easton High School and graduates in 2006. That summer Linus drives with Josephine to Euclid, Nebraska to visit her father Raymond Vaughn, the two having an odd experience together. He is then Emmett Karson’s roommate in college, the two forming the band Technological Epidemic together at Fayette University, Connecticut by October of 2007. He finds out Josephine is cheating on him with Ken in November of 2008 after following her to the movies. Linus saves Emmett’s life that same night after he almost O.D.s. Linus continues dating Josephine until December of 2008 where she dumps him and joins the Church of Surveillance. Linus then joins the following February of 2009 with Emmett.
The two are in the church until November of 2010 when they decide to steal most of its funds and run away with Mary Lugar and Lee Fisher. They then set up shop at East Heights as the Civilized Union Liberal Front and are at Mary’s cabin on the outskirts of town when the apocalypse finally happens. They then take over East Heights by the summer of 2011, and attempt to survive from there. Linus lives at 1325 Ash Road after the apocalypse.

Lee Fisher, Survivor
Born in New York City, Lee attends Jefferson Middle School until December of 1999 when he moves with his parents to East Heights, Vermont. Lee instantly becomes friends with Peter Watts and Ramona Strayer and starts getting pot off of Henry Vaughn. Lee fights Chase McHugh behind Galloway’s Corner Store in December of 1999, the same day as the East Heights Blackout.
In July of 2000, Lee has a sorted relationship with Amber Jenson until she goes back to Doyle Finely once high school starts up. Lee starts buying pot off of Henry Vaughn more regularly in his sophomore year and dealing to various Easton High School students. He meets Aimee Shields at the East Heights Mall in the fall of 2002, the two starting a drugged-out relationship together. Lee also meets Linus Mansfield in October of 2002 outside the homecoming dance, the two becoming good friends and going on burns runs with Ramona everyday while they have study hall and he has shop class.
Lee takes Aimee to the winter formal dance in January of 2003, although the two hit a slight rough patch by that March. Lee fools around with Joanna Fuller at Phoebe Dwyer’s party that same month before reconciling with Aimee. These two then go to prom together that year. In May of 2003, Lee’s drug dealer Henry Vaughn dies of heroin overdoes, Lee inheriting some of Henry’s plants and beginning to grow his own crop in his bedroom closet. He graduates from Easton High School in June of 2004. Lee then starts working at Potter’s Pizza as a chef and delivery boy that same summer, Aimee working there as well.
In the summer of 2005, Lee’s cousin Jim stays in East Heights the two working for Lee’s father’s company and basically just doing deskwork. Lee returns to Potter’s Pizza in September of 2005, working with Zeke Morgan and Chas Weller as well as Aimee again. Lee and Aimee continue to date and eventually get an apartment together in March of 2006. By September of 2006, Aimee gets pregnant and has an abortion. She then breaks up with Lee by January of 2007, before going to school at Clover University in Ohio.
Lee stays around East Heights and continues to deal and work at Potter’s Pizza until January of 2009 when he hears about the Church of Surveillance. Lee joins up with them only to soon go against the norm and start growing his own marijuana plants in the woods outside of the complex. Lee eventually flees with Emmett, Mary and Linus in November of 2010 before setting up shop back in East Heights after the apocalypse. Lee starts growing his own pot plants again and also develops an addiction to the porn section at Big Time Video, while he waits for his one true love to find him.

Josephine March, Deceased
Born in Euclid Nebraska in January of 1988 to Jeannie March and Raymond Vaughn. Josephine lives at the Vaughn Hotel until April of 1990 when her and Jeannie move to Steeple Hill, Ohio. She then goes through the Steeple Hill School System until June of 2004. Jeanie and Josephine then move to East Heights Vermont, living right across from Linus Mansfield on Linden Street. Linus’ mother Alice Hughes sells them their house.
Linus and Josephine are soon dating that same month after he breaks up with Joan Foster. They go to shows together around the East Heights scene and are more or less normal people, despite a few fights and odd experiences, one particular instance taking place during the Mansfield Annual Christmas party. Josephine graduates from Easton High School in June of 2006. Her and Linus then lie to their parents and say they’re going on a senior trip before they drive to Euclid Nebraska to see Josephine’s father, Raymond Vaughn.
While staying at the Vaughn Hotel, Josephine eats acid for the first time with Linus and more or less loses her head. They soon return to East Heights, not talking about their experience with her father ever again. Linus and Josephine both then go to Fayette University in August of 2006 and still date for the next two years with little to no problems. In September of 2008, Josephine takes Ken Lugar’s World Religion course and reads his book, Answers: The Truth Behind the Church of Surveillance.
Josephine and Ken then start their affair in October of 2008, feeding him acid in the middle of the month and supposedly setting him free. She then dumps Linus in December of 2008 and joins up with the Church of Surveillance. For the next two and a half years she secretly continues to fool around with Ken, despite the fact that Linus joins up with the Church soon after that. She sleeps with Linus one final time in November of 2010, before he steals much of the Church’s money. Josephine finds out that she’s pregnant with Linus’ baby on January 14th, 2011 the same day as the apocalypse. She dies with the rest of Ken’s followers on the complex.

Ken Lugar, Deceased
Born in Fayette Connecticut in June of 1979, Ken then attends Fayette High School, graduating in June of 1996. Ken then attends Fayette University where he majors in religion, meanwhile his older brother Cyrus works for the family business Lugar’s Pawn Shop. Ken then graduates with a bachelor’s degree in religious studies in June of 2000. In August of 2000 he moves to Los Angeles attending California University and going for his masters in religion. While in California, Ken has Robert Ditko as a student.
By May of 2003, Ken has his masters in religion. He leaves LA in September of 2005, traveling across America looking for signs of life. Ken ends up at the Vaughn Hotel in October of 2005, learning various lessons from its owner Raymond Vaughn until January of 2006 when Ken leaves and returns to Fayette. He gets a job teaching World Religion at the university that semester. In February of 2006, Ken meets Mary Corwin at Tweedy’s Bar and Grill. Ken and Mary are then married in April of 2006, Ken’s brother Cyrus giving him a handgun as a wedding gift. Ken soon returns the gift back to Lugar’s Pawnshop.
In January of 2007, Mary and Ken have their first son Isaac in Fayette. Ken then continues to teach and writes his book Answers: The Truth Behind the Church of Surveillance in July of 2008. Ken then self-publishes the book and assigns it to his students the upcoming fall semesters. In August of 2008, Ken meets Josephine March for the first time, her taking his World Religion class that year. In early October of that year Ken and Josephine start fooling around, Josephine feeding Ken two hits of acid in the middle of October.
Ken then completely loses his head that same night and starts driving around East Heights looking for any available signs of life. He calls Robert Ditko and talks about the Church of Surveillance waiting for any kind of confirmation. Ken then goes to his brother’s pawnshop to regrettably find that Cyrus has been shot dead. It’s also at the pawnshop that Ken meets drug dealer and traveling circus manager Clay who’s searching for Arlo Fry. These two then join up eventually finding Arlo and Kerry Perich having sex in Sidney Decker’s car parked in front of Judd Kruger’s house.
Clay forces Arlo and Kerry into the car before also finding Sidney. Ken then drives the four of them to his brother’s house where his nephew Joe Lugar is with his best friend Wade Langham, both having huffed ether the entire night. Ken lets Sidney leave while Arlo, Kerry, Clay Joe and Wade are the first recruits for the Church of Surveillance, Robert Ditko joining up later that day. Ken becomes Joe’s legal guardian after Cyrus’ death, thus inheriting all of the available land on the outskirts of Fayette.
Ken then slowly begins to build the church up, Josephine soon dropping out of college and joining him along with his wife Mary and their son Isaac. Linus Mansfield, Lee Fisher, Emmett Karson, and Adam Mazes also all join the Church right after that. Ken then slowly builds his empire up from November of 2008 until January of 2011. His second son David is born in May of 2009. The Church of Surveillance gets tons of new coverage as the complex gets bigger and bigger during these years.
All of the hype starts to go to Ken’s head as he pegs himself as a Christ-like figure. Mary, Emmett, Linus and Lee steal funds from the Church in November of 2010 and leave setting up the Civilized Union Liberal Track soon after. The apocalypse happens on January 14th, 2011, Ken soon dying as a wave of light consumes him and his followers.

Mary (Corwin) Lugar, Survivor
Born in New York City in September of 1982, Mary attends Jefferson High School, graduating in June of 2001. She then attends Fayette University in Connecticut, majoring in nursing. Mary graduates from Fayette in May of 2005, and decides to stay in town, getting a job a local hospital. She meets Ken Lugar in February of 2006, the two getting married two months later in April of 2006.
Mary continued to work at the hospital until she gets pregnant and has her first born son Isaac in January of 2007. He relationship with Ken then slowly starts to fade in the next two years as she raises his son and eventually goes back to work at the hospital. Mary first meets Emmett Karson in November of 2008 right around the same time Ken is setting up the Church of Surveillance. She is Emmett’s nurse after he almost O.D.’s. By December of 2008, Ken persuades Mary to quit her job and move to the outskirts of the town with about dozen followers and start the Church of Surveillance. She agrees for the sake of her son.
Mary is then a member of the Church of Surveillance acting as their nurse among other things as their funding and numbers grow over the next two years. She gives birth to her second son David in May of 2009. It’s around this same time that Mary feels as if she’s being used by Ken. She also finds out about Ken and Josephine from Emmett. By October of 2009, Emmett and Mary have started having an affair, although they try to keep it a secret as the buzz grows around the church.
Finally as Ken slowly loses his mind Emmett convinces Mary to run away and start a counter movement, the Civilized Union Liberal Track. Mary agrees, leaving both her sons with Ken in November of 2010 and fleeing with Linus, Emmett and Lee. These three then attempt to get other followers and have a group meeting at Mary’s inherited cabin in the woods of Connecticut on January 14th, 2011. The apocalypse then happens, Mary returning to East Heights with Emmett, Linus and Lee. She sets up shop at Easton Middle School in Mr. Hooper’s old room and starts to help people as they come upon the small town. Her and Emmett are happy together despite the fact that the world they knew is completely gone.
